Okay, I had a customer call me inquiring about a loan modification. She explained to me that she have been paying an outside party to deal directly with the bank. She is unfortunately out of $1,200.
DO NOT PAY ANY BUSINESS, ORGANIZATION, OR PERSON TO PREVENT FORECLOSURE OR GET YOU A NEW MORTGAGE.
These so-called "foreclosure rescue companies" claim they can help save your home, but they're out to make a quick buck. Some may request hefty fees in advance - and then stop returning your calls. Others may string you along before disclosing their charges. Cut off all dealings if someone insists on a fee.
Some scammers offer to handle financial arrangements for you, but then just pocket your payment. SEND YOUR MORTGAGE PAYMENTS ONLY TO YOUR MORTGAGE SERVICER.
Now, I admit that the modification process can be very lengthy taking up to a year or more. But, the wait is well worth it. So, if you are currently going through this process or even thinking about it, the advice I would give to you is be patient.
Good Luck
